You will certainly need a gear puller with a six to seven inch reach to remove the OEM plate, (O'Reilly rents this tool, part # 67002), very cheaply. Have one of these or an equivalent handy and your install will be very quick. Note that YouTube has some helpful videos on the process if you are not very mechanical.
