To measure the circumference of your head wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows. Pull the tape comfortably snug, and read the length. Compare it to the measurements in the Head Circumference table and then check the Size Selection table to ensure the helmet series you are interested in fits your head shape.

Determining Head Shape

After many, many years of listening to riders, Arai has found that helmet satisfaction starts with understanding helmets. Most importantly, understanding how proper fit affects helmet performance during everyday riding, and how that comfort extends to the helmet's interior shape. This is why Arai has gone to the considerable effort to design, create, and offer three different interior shapes. (Arai does not believe that all-day comfort can be achieved by trying to stuff every different head shape into a single helmet interior shape.)

In order to offer the most comfort, a helmet interior must fit snugly around the entire head contour. (This is partly determined by firm, even pressure at all contact points, and without pressure points that could become uncomfortable in the future). A previous helmet of the same brand, model and size - even if an Arai - may not offer the same fit as a current model or size because the evolution of design and use of new materials can affect the final design and shape (For example, such advances and refinements have made the interior shapes of our new RX-7 Corsair and Quantum-2 models able to fit more riders than their immediate predecessors, the RX-7 RR4 and Quantum/f.).

Attention must also be paid to the fit of the model's shape around the crown of your head - and not with facial fit. (The part that is contacted by a baseball cap's band, for example, is the crown). Cheek pads in all Arai helmets can be replaced with a size that better suits your facial structure, so the possible need for different cheek pads should only be addressed after the crown is properly sized. All too often, tight OEM cheek pads will result in purchasing a helmet one or even two sizes too big - in effect sizing the face and not the head! The end result will be a loose and noisy helmet, as described above. Riders with a strong jaw or heavy cheeks should first remove the cheekpads completely in order to not be distracted in determining crown fit.

How can you determine which of Arai's three interior shapes is best suited for you? In general, Arai interiors for the North American markets have an oval shape orientation (somewhat longer front-to-back and a little narrow from side- to-side) because that is the shape that tends to fit most. Different models then vary slightly based on that general Oval shape to accommodate a much wider fit range.

1. LONG OVAL
   Very long front-to-back, very narrow side-to-side. On this end of the scale, we have the new Profile model, offering additional forehead room for those who find that most helmets have pressure points in the forehead.
2. INTERMEDIATE OVAL
   A little shorter front-to-back and a little wider side-to-side than the Long Oval. This next fit package comes in the RX-7 Corsair model, which begins the shift from oblong towards round.
3. ROUND OVAL
   Even a little shorter front-to-back and a little widerside-to-side. This next fit package is represented by both the Quantum-2 and our Astral-X models.

The Astral-X has a slightly more "relaxed" fit - a bit more room in the forehead area - mainly because the Astral has a non-removable liner.

The Quantum-2's liner, on the other hand, is fully-removable, which makes it feel a bit more "round". Be sure to try both on to determine which feels better on your head.

No one pays more attention to the subtle variations and the infinite possibilities of the human head shape than Arai. And even though they know they can never build a perfect shape for everyone, Arai spends the extra time and expense to make a genuine effort to offer shapes that allow more people to find a better and more comfortable fit than by simply offering one shape in every model.

This is why it's important for you to understand the different aspects of sizing as it relates to brands, models and in Arai's case - interior shapes.

Who is Eligible?

You must create an account online and place orders through the online store to earn and redeem AMS Pro Points. Orders placed via guest checkout, email, phone, in person, etc... will not be eligible to earn or redeem AMS Pro Points.

How to Earn Points

AMS Pro Points are earned automatically on all qualifying purchases online. After your order has been placed in our system your AMS Pro Points will be marked "Pending". When your order is shipped (or picked up if you select in store pickup) your AMS Pro Points will be credited to your account and will then be available for redemption starting with your next order.

You can also earn 30 AMS Pro Points for every "quality" product review you write. Quality is subjective, but essentially we are looking for detailed and honest feedback about products you have first hand experience with. Just saying you like a product won't earn points... tell us why you like the product. Product reviews help us and your fellow motorcyclists make better-informed decisions about the products so be as descriptive and informative as possible. AMS Pro Points will only be earned for the first five reviews you write each month and a max of twenty per year.

How to Redeem AMS Pro Points

When you are ready to checkout you can select how many AMS Pro Points (you can enter points or the dollar value) you'd like to redeem on the shopping cart page. Your order totals will be updated automatically.

How to Monitor Your AMS Pro Points

After you are logged in to your AMS Ducati Dallas account select the Account link from the main navigation then select the AMS Pro Points link and you will be able to see your current AMS Pro Points information. You will see your current balance in Points and dollars as well as their expiration date and a full history of all points earned and redeemed.

Further AMS Pro Points Details

• AMS Pro Points are non-refundable and can't be transferred between accounts.
• AMS Pro Points are not earned or redeemed for in store purchases.
• AMS Pro Points are not earned or redeemed for motorcycles or service.
• AMS Pro Points are non-transferable or exchangeable for cash under any circumstances.
• When buying with AMS Pro Points, you will still have to select another payment method if there is not enough in your AMS Pro Points account to cover the cost of your purchase.
• When calculating the amount of AMS Pro Points earned, shipping fees and taxes are excluded.
• AMS Ducati Dallas retains the right to deny the use of AMS Pro Points to any user for any reason.
• AMS Ducati Dallas retains the right to modify or end the AMS Pro Points program at any time without prior notice.
• AMS Pro Points typically expire 13 months after the issue date, but expiration dates can vary for certain promotions. View your AMS Pro Points Transaction History for exact expiration dates.

Oversize Items

Oversize items are not eligible for free or discounted shipping offers. Discounts are already built into the price of all oversize items as a regular practice to make the shipping price more reasonable. When your order contains a mixture of standard and oversize items you will only be charged shipping on the oversize items. Items eligible for free or discounted shipping will remain free or discounted.

In rare cases where we have not correctly identified the shipping weight of an oversize item we might require additional payment. This is extremely rare, but is possible due to the number of different products we offer. We will always give you this information before charging you and you will have the option of canceling the order instead of paying the increased charge.

Free or Discounted Shipping

We offer free domestic shipping on orders over $250. Some restrictions apply. Domestic shipping covers all 50 states, Washington D.C. and APO addresses. All other destinations fall under the international shipping offer. Some exclusions apply; see the full details below.

Shipping discounts are automatically applied during checkout based on the sub-total of your order and eligibility of items in your shopping cart. Free or discounted shipping only applies to the standard shipping method and not upgraded services.

Shipping Carriers and Services

AMS Ducati will determine the shipping carrier and service for orders that qualify for free or discounted shipping. We use a range of available services from the following carriers: USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL. If you require a specific shipping carrier or service we will attempt to accommodate under the free or discounted shipping program. If the shipping method requested is more expensive than our selected shipping method you will have the option to pay the difference between the two. This will be handled by our support team on a case-by-case basis.

Split Shipments

Orders that qualify for free or discounted shipping will be shipped in a single package (whenever possible). If there is a backorder or special order and you would like to split the order into multiple shipments we are happy to accommodate, but you will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.

Exclusions from Free or Discounted Shipping

The following items typically do not qualify for free or discounted shipping. We've attempted to identify these items in our catalog so they will automatically be excluded, but we reserve the right to adjust shipping manually after the order has been placed for oversize items that were unidentified. We will get your approval prior to charging the difference to your payment method.

If your order contains items that both do and do not qualify for free or discounted shipping we will only charge shipping for the items that do not qualify. Qualified items still ship free.
